With the Ferrocarril Chihuahua al Pacifico you will travel comfortably along breathtaking canyons through the home of the Tarahumara Indians - the Barranca del Cobre ("Copper Canyon").

The highlight of the trip awaits you in Baja California with an animal impressive event - at the southern tip of the Californian peninsula the gray whales give birth to their young every year between January and March. A natural spectacle of superlatives.

In addition, Baja California impresses with bizarre mountain landscapes, deserts in which countless cacti grow in every size and thousands of kilometers of coastline, including white dream beaches. There is much to discover!

MEXICO CITY
-
...a city that you can not describe without having experienced it yourself.

Mexico City can be summed up in three words: Huge, exciting, unpredictable.

One has the feeling to experience a new adventure around every corner. For example, there is Chapultepec Park, home to the world-famous Anthropological Museum.

On weekends, the green lung of the capital is the destination of thousands of "chilangos", as the capital's inhabitants are called by strangers.

The districts of Polanco and Condesa form the "noble" center with very many restaurants and bars. They are chic and expensive.

Two other important neighborhoods should be highlighted: Coyoacan, the artistically dominated Mexico City. It seems to most visitors like an independent Mexico within Mexico.

And Xochimilco, the starting point for boat trips on the canals of Lago Xochimilco. On weekends, lines of cars filled with Mexican families are drawn to this romantic spot, loaded with picnic baskets and good cheer.

People rent a trajinera, a boat similar to a Venetian gondola, but considerably larger and decorated with flowers, and cruise along, celebrating and enjoying the atmosphere, which is fueled by Mariachi groups.

The heart of the city, however, beats on the Zócalo. The main square is dominated by the largest cathedral in Latin America and the National Palace.

This is where your tour and adventure in Central America begins.

COPPER CANYON AND THE TARAHUMARA INDIANS

"Boarding, please. Close doors. Be careful at the edge of the platform".

The team of the "Chepe" welcomes you warmly on your train ride through the Copper Canyon from Los Mochis to Chihuahua. One of the most charming train routes in the world leads through the pristine north of Mexico.

Ahead of you are 650 km of fascinating scenery, 36 bridges over deep canyons, 87 tunnels and climbs to over 2,000 m. The train route takes you in a short time through three fundamentally different vegetation and climate zones.

From Los Mochis to El Fuerte, the train passes through the thorn forest of Sinaloa, dominated by cacti and thorn trees. Through the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental, the Ferrocarril enters the vast canyons where tropical to subtropical climates prevail with palm, banana and mango trees.

Stops are made in El Divisadero and Creel, where you will get a deep impression of this region and its people. Hotel accommodations included.

Meet the legendary Tarahumara Indians, one of the most authentic and isolated peoples of Mexico, who live mostly in caves or wooden huts and have remained true to their traditions to this day.

"We wish you a pleasant trip."

BAJA CALIFORNIA - THE BIRTHPLACE OF WHALES
-
There is probably no better place in the world to watch whales than Baja California.

For centuries, gray whales have come here from the frigid Bering Sea to give birth to their young or engage in lovemaking in the warm waters.

Baja California is also the winter home of fin and humpback whales, whose breathtaking leaps out of the water make the heart of every observer beat faster.

In the Sea of Cortés, east of the peninsula, dolphins and sea lions are even so familiar to humans that you can swim with them.

The best way to experience this natural wonder for yourself is to spend a few days in Los Cabos at the southern tip.

Divers and snorkelers will be able to collect unforgettable impressions under water!
